Africa Chronicles, pt 4: let the little children come...

There's so much joy in the air today. Kids shouting Bible verses, playing soccer, singing songs - it's the most glorious symphony ever. We started our Good News Clubs this afternoon not knowing if anyone would show up...and they SHOWED UP! Between our two sites, we had 250 kids by the time the afternoon had ended.  There are three universal languages, that are recognizable to me whether I'm in the States, the Phillipines, Canada, or Africa. Laughter, smiles, and songs. Children have no need for toys, new clothes, television, or material goods to be happy. Give them Jesus, a song, and a picture of you with them, and you've made their entire year.  It's been a LONG day of work, and everyone's incredibly exhausted and dirty. But we're not empty because of wasted time; we've given these kids everything we had today, and tomorrow we'll wake up and do it again. Hebrews 13:5 says, "I will never leave you or forsake you." We taught this to our kids today, and it's been the only thing sustaining us - full trust that God will hold true to that promise and will be with us this week.
